Faltown Skateboards owner, Alex Brinnen and local photographer Rick Davy were sitting at their local on Saturday evening, loosely discussing the organisation of a small event to promote the cream of Cornish skateboarding talent, but were oblivious to the attention the event would receive in the next couple of days from sources previously beyond their grasp.

When RedBull caught wind of the proposed event on the 28th of last month (October), they were so excited by the idea they rapidly made sure Faltown had the best mobile events vehicle this side of London in the form of the RedBull party wagon. Providing lighting for the event, DJ equipment, a sound rig to keep the party going and video screens for exciting visuals, the event took on a whole different vibe than originally planned and created the atmosphere for a Cornish Skateboarding first.

From the get-go, spectators from the local area of Tucking Mill and Cambourne, came to watch and be wowed and show their support for Cornish skaters Matt Perham, Dan Perkins, Tom Hudson and Elliot Ward, who were all pulling big maneuvers and tricks that pleased the crowd and made for some spectacular photography. With the music pumping and the atmosphere building the evening transformed into an intense and explosive display of talent and ability, most noticeably youngster, Elliot “Batfink” Ward, who consistently gave the older, more experienced skaters a run for their money.
The event was unfortunately cut short with the outbreak of heavy rain but luckily Mount Hawke skate-park stepped up and kept the event going indoors right up until closing time.
Faltown Skateboards would like to thank the skaters and everyone who came to the event and Redbull for transforming it into something bigger.
