Development of our forthcoming Pro Slide board.
Designing a new deck after the massive success of the 3.2 Slide Classic as it is now known, is not an easy task as the old saying goes "if it aint broke dont fix it" leaps onto the drawing board before we can put pen to paper.
So why make a new design when the other one worked so well?
Our first deck served the purpose of providing a solid platform for anyone getting into sliding for the first time to riders wanting to progress from their regular longboard to something more 'job specific'. Now, and over the last five years sliding in the UK and globally has stepped up several gears and has become increasingly technical with blunt slides and and faster rotation at the forefront of pregression thus requiring ever more technically shaped and sized equipment. The new 3.2 Pro Slide board, we hope will fill the gap for sliders who want a board that will assist their skill and allow them to take sliding to a world class level. We have kept the tapered rails in the new board because of the added foot placement identification it offers. We believe we will provide a shape of deck that identifies it as a "slide deck" rather than a "big skateboard" and says something about how you roll and what you are into. Like short boards have identified street skaters etc we hope that our shape says "I'm a slider and proud" when under the arm walking up the hill or skating down the road.
How are we going to do this?
The new board is a direct reaction to the progression of sliding and has specific features reflecting this.
- Totally symmetrical deck, allowing for switch and fakie tricks and quick 'throw down' recovery if you bail.
- High kicks for cetralised balance when performing blunts slides
- Medium/Deep concave for grip in aggressive manouevers
- Spooned nose and tail, like the 3.2 Classic, to keep feet locked in
- Optional custom made nose and tail sliders made from UHMWPE
In a addition to the deck features, we are looking to put UPF formula wheels on the board for a really loose ride and easy slide and top flight trucks.
Pricing
We are not entirely sure what the rrp of the board is going to be at the moment as we are still in the R&D stages but be assured that it ill be worth every penny and fairly priced.
Below are some pictures of the prototype deck and tal saver.
